Producers in Television have many different responsibilities. There are many aspects to the role which varies from creative roles to administrative and financial. The producer is often in charge of hiring, handling contracts, sourcing income and many other things. For many shows, especially comedies, the producer is often involved in the strict writing of the show itself. As for the financial aspect of the job they are in charge of raising money to start production, handling the budget during the production and then distributing the show to make a profit.
Vince Gilligan-
Vince Gilligan is a famous TV Producer, known for shows such as Breaking Bad, Battle Creek and Better Call Saul. He has also worked on movies as well as TV shows Including the 2008 Hancock starring Will Smith and the 2019 Breaking Bad Sequel El Camino, a follow up to arguably his most famous TV show Breaking Bad.
Throughout his work in both the television and film industry Vince often finds himself working multiple roles. For example on the set of breaking bad he worked as a producer, creator, head writer and director. He also has a net worth of around $35 million coming predominately from television but also from film as well, this shows just how successful his career has been. Gilligan’s shows usually fall under the genre of crime drama. To make his dramas so effective his shows follow a gritty and dark narrative, for example Breaking Bad follows the life of a high school teacher who must use his chemistry experties to create a drug empire to provide for his family after finding out he has cancer and may not live much longer.
