The Poet & Vuj podcast is YouTube podcast revolving around football. I chose to review this podcast as I have always been a fan of football. The episode I chose to review is one in which they feature famous former football Ian Wright. Wright was a hugely successful football and is considered an Arsenal FC legend, the fact that the hosts, Poet and Vuj, could get a celebrity such as Wright shows the podcast has a big following. One reason the podcast is so popular is also the casual and laid back environment in which it is set. For example as the show starts we see that the two hosts and the celebrity guest are just sitting on sofa’s and then Poet leans out the window to collect a takeaway he had ordered for his fellow host and guest. The light-hearted vibe of the podcast is also seen when both the hosts and the viewers start singing, chanting and laughing through out the show.

One thing that is also noticeable straight away is the chemistry the two hosts have with one another. Poet and Vuj both bounce off each other in conversation and have many similarities in the jargon and personalities. Due to this it makes the podcast more relatable as it is almost as if if the viewer is just sitting with a few friends  having a conversation about football. Not only do the viewers relate though we also see the hosts relating to the celebrity guest as Poet says “i know what you mean!” multiple times as Wright tells stories from his past. With Poet saying things like this and asking follow up questions we can also see that they enjoy talking about one another’s past.
